Joyce Hernandez

At 14, this is Joyce’s premiere as an actor. Joyce is Mayan and Wiyot and grew up on the Table Bluff Reservation. She is deeply engaged with her tribe and loves photography and playing the trumpet. Joyce hopes to be a surgeon when she grows up. She is also one of the youngest sister’s of Douk’s director. This will be their first film together.

Destiny Charlene Patricia Sue Lewis - Wanda

Destiny Charlene Patricia Sue Lewis is Tolowa, Wiyot, Hupa, Yurok, Karuk, Wiylaki, and Chimariko. Destiny finds it a huge importance in knowing and practicing her culture and traditions. Douk will be her debut film and makes her one of the youngest actresses in her tribes.

Roseanne Supernault - Mother

Roseanne Supernault is a Canadian Actress best known for her role in the Netflix hit series Blackstone where her haunting performance has garnered her several accolades to date; the historical, pre-contact epic, "Maina," where she plays the title character, for which she received the Best Actress Award at American Indian Film Festival; and the groundbreaking Feature, "Rhymes For Young Ghouls," by Jeff Barnaby, that premiered at Toronto International Film Festival and was named TIFF Top 10. Roseanne also practices and sustains her cultural hunting & land rights as an Indigenous Cree Metis; and being exposed to the politics and social justice movements of Indigenous Peoples in Canada. Her life took a sharp turn into arts when she was discovered by a Los Angeles Casting Director at 13 and thereafter signed to a Talent Agency - she has worked steadily as a performer and has seen her profile rise steadily since.

Justin Rain - Father

Plains Cree actor Justin Rain was born in Vancouver BC, raised in Prince Albert Saskatchewan. Coming up on ten years working in the industry, Justin has worked in over 60 television episodes including series regular roles on APTN’s award winning controversial drama series ‘BLACKSTONE’, SyFy’s near future action ‘DEFIANCE’ alongside Oscar nominated actor Graham Greene as well as recently landing a recurring role of Crazy Dog(AKA Lee) onAMC’s ‘FEAR THE WALKING DEAD’. Other guest titles and feature films include Summit Entertainment’s ‘TWILIGHT: ECLIPSE’ Global TV's ‘THE GUARD’, CBC’s ‘ARCTIC AIR’& ‘HEARTLAND’, E! Networks ‘THE ARRANGEMENT’, AMC’s dark crime drama ‘THE KILLING’, Snowfort Pictures & Dark Sky Films ‘MOHAWK’ directed by Ted Geoghegan and A24’s ‘LEAN ON PETE’ directed by Andrew Haigh, set to release early 2018, Staring Steve Buscemi, Chloë Sevigny and Charlie Plummer.

J. David Hinze

J. David Hinze is an American/German actor known for his assertive and dominating screen presence. His diverse and varied acting roles range from playing the king of Spain to psychopathic pediatricians. He is a self-made man who has worked in IT and business, and he is one of the few Americans who worked behind the ‘Iron Curtain’ in the world of opera at the internationally renowned ‘Semperoper’ in Dresden. Additionally, he worked for four years as a counselor, advisor, and caregiver for refugees in Yugoslavia, as well as those who fled the Taliban in Afghanistan. He has appeared in TV and film productions in the US, Canada, as well as in many countries in Europe.
